What is Spot?

Spot is a standalone personal AI appliance made by Brain-Frame. It is a small computer that runs frontier-class AI models on its own hardware, on your desk, instead of in a cloud data center. Chat, voice, vision, long-term memory, a private file workspace and agents that act on your behalf all run on the box, and apps for desktop, phone, watch and the web put it on every screen you own.

Who makes Spot?

Brain-Frame, legally Brain Frame AI, Inc., a small US-based, veteran-owned company founded by Solomon Bush and Jake Kelley. The engineers who build Spot read the support inbox at support@brain-frame.ai.

About Brain-Frame →

How much does Spot cost?

Spot V0 is $6,000, Spot V1 is $6,500 and Spot V1 Pro is $9,500. Every pre-order is a $50 deposit that is fully refundable at any time before fulfillment; the balance is collected when your unit ships. Final pricing for the V1 models is confirmed at launch.

When does Spot ship?

Spot V0, the first-run build, ships December 2026 in a limited quantity. Spot V1 follows in Q1 2027 and Spot V1 Pro in Q2 2027, both in the signature enclosure. Pre-orders are fulfilled in reservation order, and Brain-Frame contacts you before your unit ships to confirm the final order.

Is there a subscription?

No. You buy the device once, and the models, memory, tools and apps are included. There is no per-token billing for everyday use.

Does Spot need the internet or the cloud?

No. The models run on the device, so core chat, voice and automations keep working when the internet is down. The cloud is opt-in: an encrypted relay lets you reach your Spot from outside your home or office, and the relay cannot read your prompts.

Where does my data go?

It stays on Spot. Your files, conversation history, memory and indexes live on hardware you own. Nothing leaves your network unless you say so, and every action Spot plans waits for your permission first.

Which AI models does Spot run?

Spot runs frontier-class open-weight models for chat, coding, research, vision and voice, and keeps several loaded at once so different people and jobs can use it at the same time. Brain-Frame delivers model and software updates over signed over-the-air updates.

What hardware is inside Spot?

A compute module with 64 GB or 128 GB of unified LPDDR5X memory and up to 2070 TFLOPS (FP4) of AI compute, a 1 TB NVMe SSD, four Ethernet ports plus USB-A, USB-C and HDMI, Wi-Fi 6E, and copper heat pipes with a 60 mm fan drawing air from below. Spot V1 and V1 Pro add the one-piece matte black metal shell on a solid walnut, maple or ash base with a light bar; Spot V0 ships in a function-first enclosure.

Which apps and devices work with Spot?

Desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux, mobile apps for iPhone and Android, an Apple Watch app, and the web. The same chats and memory follow you to every screen. Downloads are in the Software Warehouse.

What does Spot connect to?

Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides), Microsoft 365 and Outlook, any IMAP mailbox, CalDAV and iCloud calendars, Home Assistant, Zigbee and MQTT devices, cameras, printers and 3D printers, solar, speakers, thermostats, lights, smart plugs, doorbells and security systems, plus web browsing, weather and news. Spot also keeps track of everything on your network, starting with the router.

Can more than one person use a Spot?

Yes. One Spot serves a whole household or team: it runs several models at once, keeps each person's conversations and memory separate, and asks the right person for permission before it acts.

Can I use Spot for my business?

Spot is built first for professionals who are entrusted with confidential records, such as CPAs, law firms and clinics, who cannot send client data to cloud AI. It runs always-on and local, one Spot powers a whole team, it integrates with the apps the team already uses, and it is ready for IT deployment. Fleet Manager handles multi-device sites. What is the difference between Spot V0, Spot V1 and Spot V1 Pro?

Spot V0 ($6,000) is the first-run build: the complete Spot experience with the 64 GB module in a function-first enclosure, shipping December 2026 in a limited quantity. Spot V1 ($6,500, ships Q1 2027) is the flagship in the signature enclosure, a matte black metal shell with a light bar on a solid walnut, maple or ash base, with the 64 GB module. Spot V1 Pro ($9,500, ships Q2 2027) is Spot V1 with the 128 GB module and the fastest on-device compute, for offices, teams and heavy workloads.

What is the return policy?

The $50 pre-order deposit is refundable at any time before fulfillment. Delivered devices can be returned within 14 calendar days of purchase in unused condition and original packaging: email support@brain-frame.ai for a return authorization, ship it back with tracking, and the refund goes to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days of inspection. Original shipping is not refunded and return shipping is paid by the customer.

Returns and refund policy →

Can I add more Spots or accessories later?

That is the plan. Stacked Spots daisy-chained over the fiber ports on the back, a Spot Lamp, a Voice Node for every room and a Spot Camera are all in development.

Is Spot open to developers?

Yes. Spot speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so it can use MCP servers and tools you already run; the Brain-Frame CLI drives a device from the terminal; and mods from the Software Warehouse extend what Spot does.
